CONTRA COSTA COLLEGE UPDATE
Greetings! I hope this newsletter follows a safe holiday season and a Steelers win. The rainy weather is with us and showering our roadways with job security. The spring ICAR schedule is in full swing and into April with mechanical and electrical courses. We also have steel and aluminum tests scheduled and they’re filling up fast. If you folks in the trenches everyday need something special offered for your technicians, let Larry Bernal from Bernals Auto Body or I know. Remember, you can go to the ICAR website and click on the upper left hand corner on “my ICAR” and get your I.D. # and a full listing of classes you’ve taken. The college program has started for the spring semester. We just recently had three students pass the aluminum test and already passed the steel test and two just got hired and one will be ready in June. The students at Contra Costa College are some of the best in the nation (including some privates schools). If you think you want to hire an apprentice in either the collision or refinish department, get involved with the program right now and we can help customize your new employee. Our steering committee has a request. We need representation on our committee from the insurance industry. If anyone has any leads or contacts for this committee that meets quarterly let Richard Oxford from Finishmaster know ASAP. Stay dry and don't let your spray gun run out of paint.
